Robotics Program
Friends of SoZo Kids funded and launched a Robotics Program tailored to each group of kids participating in the Forest Lakes Park Summer Program. The Kids welcomed this fun and engaging program that promotes STEM skills in effective ways.
Any volunteer can assist us with the Robotics program which Friends of SoZo Kids has expanded into After-School Programs at both Forest Lakes Park Community Center and Sandy Acres Community Center in the Ocala National Forest. This Robotics program invites children to actually build their own robots (think Lego-type robots) and uses a cube for Kindergarten aged kids to program the robot. Older children use a tablet and simple drop and drag functionality to program their robots. We are in GREAT need of volunteers who are willing to learn SIMPLE skills to assist our beloved SoZo Kids with this program. As you might imagine, these Kids catch on quick, and everyone has a blast learning together. Click here for more information on Robotics volunteer opportunities |
