After-School & Summer Programs

During the school year, Friends of SoZo Kids helps provide volunteers to staff after-school programs Mondays-Wednesdays at their two locations.
The current need is to provide six volunteers each day at each location. Volunteers are encouraged to sign up once a week or at least once a month which allows volunteers and children to get to know one another better. Many volunteers carpool and serve food, help plan programming, and interact with the children during indoor activities (e.g., arts and crafts, games, homework support) and outdoor play. We are also looking for volunteers or groups interested in purchasing food and/or preparing hot meals to serve the children.
All volunteers must follow state guidelines for people working directly with children. This includes having a background check, getting fingerprinted, and completing an application. |
