Friends of SoZo Kids invites you to experience the joy of giving by supporting children in the Ocala National Forest. Each year, we bring together our community to uplift the lives of children facing generational poverty, offering them the chance to feel valued, loved, and inspired.
Through our partnership with SoZo Kids After-School Program, each child that participates in the program —along with their siblings—creates a personal Christmas Angel Wish List. Every wish list includes the child's name, age, and a few items they hope for this holiday season. This is your opportunity to connect directly with a child, bringing warmth and hope into their lives. For many of these children, your thoughtful gift might be the only one they unwrap on Christmas morning.

If you select the Children's Wish List Button, you can scroll through the list of children. Pick a child whose story resonates with you, and click to become their Angel. We’re expanding our Holiday Meals program
to reach even more families, by providing family style meals with the sides
to some of the SoZo Kids families. This effort is in addition to the Thanksgiving turkeys and Christmas hams we already provide.
Your donation will go twice as far in helping us provide meals, bring comfort, and make this season unforgettable for SoZo Kids families. Together, we can expand the number of meals provided this holiday season to reach even more families than ever before.
After School Programs
At Friends of SoZo Kids, we're on a mission to make a difference in the lives of elementary-age children who need us the most. From September through December, we're providing nourishing dinners and after-school support to kids participating in two critical After-School Programs. But we can't do it alone—we need your help

Meals Volunteer: The children we serve attend Marion County Schools and live in poverty. While they receive free breakfast and lunch at school, they often face hunger at dinnertime. You can change that. By providing a kid-friendly dinner meal for 30-40 children on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, you'll be ensuring they go to bed with a full stomach. Kitchen Volunteer: Want to see the smiles on the children’s faces as they receive their meal? Join us as a kitchen volunteer! You’ll help set out the prepared food, serve the children, and clean up afterward. It’s a small commitment with a big impact.
Classroom Volunteer: Do you love working with kids? Here’s your chance to make a real difference. Interact with the children during indoor activities like arts and crafts, games, and learning centers, or join them in outdoor play. We’d love for you to share your unique talents and experiences—whether it's singing, playing a musical instrument, or even performing magic tricks!
