Here are the Facts:
Good Shoes last longer than poor quality shoes.
Good Shoes help little feet form properly.
Good Shoes provide comfort and durability to a kid who has to walk long distances to get to a bus stop, wants to run, jump and play with friends.
Good Shoes provide the support needed to prevent injuries.
Recommendation by age for new shoes.
✔ Ages 1-3... every 3 to 3-1/2 months due to rapid foot growth
✔ Ages 4-10... every 5 to 5-1/2 months due to rapid foot growth and increased activity
Ages 11-18... every 5-1/2 to 6 months due to the "very hard on shoes" factor as well as increased sweat & odor

SoZo families do not have the means to provide good quality shoes for their kids... they depend on YOU to give them a helping hand.

After School Programs

Join Friends of SoZo Kids and be part of a life-changing mission! We're dedicated to making a profound difference in the lives of elementary-age children who need us most. From January to May, we’ll be serving wholesome dinners and providing vital after-school support through two impactful After-School Programs.

But we can’t do it without you. We’re looking for passionate volunteers to help with our after-school programs—whether it's serving meals, offering homework help, or simply spending time with the kids. Come meet the amazing children we support and see firsthand how your time and effort can brighten their lives.

Make a difference today—be the reason a child smiles, learns, and thrives. Together, we can transform lives!

provide a dinner meal

Meals Volunteer: The children we serve attend Marion County Schools and live in poverty. While they receive free breakfast and lunch at school, they often face hunger at dinnertime. You can change that. By providing a kid-friendly dinner meal for 40-50 children on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, you'll be ensuring they go to bed with a full stomach. Whether you're an individual, part of a club, village, or church group, your contribution will make a world of difference.Meals Volunteer: The children we serve attend Marion County Schools and live in poverty. Kitchen Volunteer: Want to see the smiles on the children’s faces as they receive their meal? Join us as a kitchen volunteer! You’ll help set out the prepared food, serve the children, and clean up afterward. It’s a small commitment with a big impact.

Classroom Volunteer: Do you love working with kids? Here’s your chance to make a real difference. Interact with the children during indoor activities like arts and crafts, games, and learning centers, or join them in outdoor play. We’d love for you to share your unique talents and experiences—whether it's singing, playing a musical instrument, or even performing magic tricks!

Your participation can change a child's life. Whether you can provide a meal, serve in the kitchen, or share your talents in the classroom, your contribution will have a lasting impact. Take action today and be the reason a child smiles tomorrow.
